George W. Wood

George W. Wood Jr., 60 of Burbank, Ohio died Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

He was born April 30, 1964 in Medina, Ohio the son of George and Seldonia (Serrano) Wood Sr.

George graduated from Norwayne High School in 1982. He served in the US Marine Corps. George married Nancy (Godina) Wood on August 30, 1990. She survives.

George loved deer hunting, riding his motorcycle, family game night and most of all spending time with his family; he was always the life of the party. One of his favorite things to do was taking friends and family to breakfast and catching up with everyone. George never met a stranger and if someone called in need, he would always answer the phone. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

George is survived by his wife; Nancy, children; David (Toni) Wood, Angela Wood and James (Kayla) Wood, grandchildren; Dayvionne and David Wood Jr., siblings; Donna (Alvin) Shortridge, Diane (Steve) Gartner and Amelia (Alexander) Murph.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Paula.

Visitation for George will be Friday November 1st, 2024 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem. The burial will be in West Salem Cemetery at a later date. Online condolences or a photo of George may be shared with the family at mattesonfh.com
