Galen C Orr

Galen C. Orr, 53, of West Salem died at home on June 12, 2024. He was born to parents Galen P. Orr and Karen S. (McKenzie) Johnson on July 18, 1970 in Wooster, Ohio. He graduated from Northwestern High School in 1989. Galen worked at American Augers. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially mushroom hunting. He was also loved to cook outside including barbecuing, grilling outside and smoking whatever foods he could. Galen also enjoyed watching all the Ohio sports teams.

Galen leaves behind his mother: Karen (McKenzie) Johnson; siblings: Kimberly (Ernie) Vizineau, Jamie Orr, Kacy Johnson (Arlin) and Joshua Orr; children: Rainen Orr and Morgan (Michael) Miller; grandchildren: Violet and Valiant; nieces and nephews: Mallory, Gavin, McKenna, Danica, Maddie, Nico and Galen. He was preceded in death by his father infant daughter: Kaylen Orr and grandparents: Charles and Juanita McKenzie.

Visitation for Galen will be on Tuesday June 18, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem, Ohio. The funeral service will be the following day, Wednesday June 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Paul Bartholomew at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hazzard Cemetery. There will be a Celebration of Life to follow the burial at Town & Country Camp Ground 7555 Shilling Road West Salem, Ohio 44287.
