Freda L Brazis, 69, of Homerville died Sunday December 15, 2013 at the Hospice of North Central in Ashland surrounding by her family and friends.
Funeral Mass will be Friday December 20, 2013 @ 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 44 Britton Street, West Salem with Rev. James P Schmitz officiating. Friends will be received Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem. Burial in Maple Hill Cemetery, Homerville. Freda was born August 31, 1944 in North Lawrence, Ohio the daughter of Clyde and Loraine (Rigsby) Skaggs.
She was a homemaker all her life.
She was an active member of St. Stephen Catholic Church for 50 years, Ladies Guild and a PSR substitute teacher. Past member of National Farmers’ Organization where she served as a secretary. She had been a volunteer at Sullivan Elementary School, as a teacher aide for the special needs children.
Freda enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was well known for her kindness and she loved everyone.
She is survived by her husband, Edward J Brazis Sr. whom she married April 20, 1963, children, Beth Fronczak of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Monica (Joseph) Matyasevich of Homerville, Ann Brazis of Homerville and Edward Brazis Jr. of Homerville, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sister, Felcie Sparks of Circleville and a brother, Paul Skaggs of Wooster.
Her parents, sisters, Anita Cowhick, Martha Roach and Deborah Liggins and a brother, Clois Skaggs died previously.
