Florence Leola (Sherrick) Kolp

Florence Leola (Sherrick) Kolp, 91, of West Salem died on July 18, 2025. She was born August 14, 1933 to parents, Joseph and Meda (Imhoff) Sherrick. She married Howard Kolp Jr on August 28th, 1950. Before he was drafted into the Korean War. Florence traveled with him before he was deployed overseas. He preceded her in death May 5, 2019. Florence worked for 20 years at West View Manor in the laundry department. She also worked at FritoLay Potato Chips.

Florence and Howard had two sons, Tim (Laura) Kolp and Jerry (Terri) Kolp; daughter in law, Darla; four grandchildren: Kirk (Melissa) Kolp, Rachel (Jonathan) Duncan, Clint (Kristin) Kolp and Stephanie (Patrick) Martinez; great grandchildren: Noah, Luke, Calvin and Graham Kolp, Harper, Hattie and Hayes Martinez.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Renee Kolp and sister, Bernice Root.

The Funeral Service will be Friday, July 25,2025 11:00 AM at the Mohican Church with Pastor Paul Bartholomew officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Mohican Church Cemetery following the services. Matteson Funeral Home is honored to serve Florence’s family and the community.
