Everett F Pursley 83 of West Salem died Wednesday January 2, 2013 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky.

Funeral services will be Tuesday Jan. 8, 2013 @ 11:00 a.m. at the Matteson Funeral Home with Pastor Raymond Miller officiating.  Friends will be received at the funeral home Monday evening 7:00 to 9:00.  Burial in Hazzard Cemetery with military services conducted by James Stevenson American Legion Post 499 of West Salem.

He was born July 12, 1929 in Granger, Ohio the son of Esley and Florence (Cooke) Pursley.
He had been engaged in farming all his life and also worked on the pipelines.
He was a US Marine veteran serving  in the Korean War.

He is a member of the Truth Baptist Church in West Salem.

He is survived by 4 daughters- Evelyn (Marvin) Tomblin of West Salem, Becky (Brian) Frase of Burbank, Dannette Herrmann and fiancé David Slowik of Medina,  and Brenda (Tony) Evey of North Carolina.  8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter, a sister- Arlene (Calvin) Ganyard of Medina and a brother-in-law Chuck Williams of Medina.

His parents, wife Marie, a grandson, 2 brothers and 3 sisters died previously.
