Ethel Howell 86 of West Salem Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 22, 2012 at Burbank Parke Care Center.
Funeral service will be Sat Feb. 25, 2012 @ 1:00 a.m. at the West Salem United Methodist Church, 80 East Buckeye Street, West Salem with Pastors Patricia Lintela and Beryl Baum officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the services at the church. Burial in West Salem Cemetery.

She was born in West Salem on June 19, 1925 to James and Grace (Allen) Neiswinter. She married Harold Howell on August 12, 1951. He died Nov. 20, 2005. She was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church having attended there ever since she was 3 weeks old. For 26 years she was the children’s Sunday School Teacher and also taught at Bible School.
She was a member of the Senior Citizens and had been President of that for two years. She was also a member of the 50 Plus Club and had been secretary of that for five years. For two years she tutored at the GED classes.
For 25 years she was the coordinator for all of the bloodmobiles in West Salem.
She loved to play dominoes and bingo. Surviving are daughters, Bonnie (Jim) Hisey of Homerville, Marilyn Sue (Tim) Yoder of West Liberty and Kathy Howell of Lodi and a son Thomas (Diana) Howell of Seville. 10 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren. A sister Opal Smith of West Salem and several nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
Preceding her in death were her husband, parents and a sister Helen Rufener.
