Emmet J Sauers

Emmet J. Sauers, 11, of Wooster, passed away on September 5, 2026, in Wooster after a tragic accident. He was born on November 21, 2014, in Wooster.

Emmet was a fifth grader at Triway School, and in his young life he brought a bright and memorable spirit to those around him. He held an orange tip belt through the Ohio Academy of Martial Arts, a reflection of his dedication and determination. He enjoyed playing the trombone and found joy in music in many forms, especially listening to the Beatles. Emmet also had a special love for records, VCRs, the PlayStation 3, and vintage electronics, showing a fascination with things both nostalgic and unique. At the same time, he embraced modern technology as well, enjoying his Nintendo Switch and Alexa. Those who knew him will also remember the smile that came with the little things that made him distinctly himself, including his strong dislike for the song “Baby Shark” and for stop lights.

He is survived by his mother, Melissa Garnes of Wooster; his father, Jonathan Sauers of Orrville. He is also lovingly remembered by his grandparents, John and Deb Garnes of Wooster; his special aunt, Donna Rae Johnson; and his brother, John( Kate) Bryson Garnes. . Each of them carries forward the memory of a boy whose personality, interests, and presence left a lasting mark on their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his grandparent, Keith Sauers, and his sibling, Evan Garnes- Sauers.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Wooster Nazarene, 3100 Oak Hill Rd, Wooster, OH 44691. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will take place at a later date in West Salem Cemetery, West Salem, OH 44287.

Though his time here was far too short, Emmet will be remembered with deep love for the happiness he brought, the interests that made him wonderfully himself, and the cherished place he holds in the lives of those who loved him.
