Emily Jean Musgrave (Gerstenslager), 90 years of age, of Creston Ohio, passed away peacefully Tuesday March 18 th in her home. Emily was born on February 23, 1935 in Creston, Ohio to parents Frank and Mary (Russell) Gerstenslager. She is survived by son Keith Musgrave (Yvonne), daughter Lisa Thomas, granddaughter Keri Deyling (William), great-grandchildren Emma and Levi Deyling, sister Lois Matteson and family. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband of 52 years, Robert Lowell Musgrave.
Emily was a life-long resident of Creston with a big heart for our community, farmland and the school district. She was won over by Lowell at the young age of 21, drawn to his strong work ethic and drive for a better life. She spent early adulthood as a pristine homemaker and developed a love for traveling the world. She and Lowell eventually became very fond of warmer weather and spent many Septembers visiting Vegas, and winters in Fort Myers Florida. A huge fan of seafood, fine wines, shopping, theater, and the beach, it was a great place to be. Home, however, was always on the farm, even more so once Keri and great grandchildren lived up the lane. She spent her later years enjoying visits from the next generation and passing out cookies at every opportunity. Emily left a legacy in many ways, filled in the hearts and spirit of her family and friends and was especially fond that the red hair line would live on in a great granddaughter named after her. She will have a private family viewing and service on Friday March 21, 2025, at Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem, Ohio. Emily will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Maple Mound Cemetery in Creston, Ohio.
