Edith I Saltsman 101 of Ashland formerly of West Salem died May 16, 2011 at her daughter’s home.
Funeral services will be Friday may 20, 2011 @ 11:00 a.m. at the Matteson Funeral home in West Salem with Pastor Beryl Baum officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Thursday evening 6:00 to 8:00 with Eastern Star Services at 8:00 p.m.
Burial in West Salem Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to West Salem United Methodist Church, 80 East Buckeye Street, West Salem, Ohio 44287 or Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
She was born March 15, 1910 in Bellville the daughter of Walter & Maggie (Shafer) Kochheiser.
She graduated in 1929 from Bellville High School.
She had been employed as a bookkeeper for Paige Chevrolet in Ashland then worked for Schneider Chevrolet in West Salem for 14 years.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Scorosis Club, 50+ Club, and Senior Citizen of West Salem. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Garfield Chapter 324 where she was past matron and received her 50 years pin in 1993
She is survived by two daughters Patricia (Paul) Forbes in Florida and Bonnie (James) Zimmerman of Ashland
Seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. A sister Maxine Donohoo of Florida.
Her husband Paul, son Robert Balliett , 2 grandsons, and three brothers Jack, Eugene and John Kochheiser, two sisters Betty Kelsey and Ruth Frost died previously.
