Dylan Robert Lee Midkiff

Dylan Robert Lee Midkiff, 19, of West Salem, Ohio, passed away suddenly on August 20, 2026.

Dylan was born in Charleston, West Virginia, and later moved to West Salem, Ohio, where he attended Northwestern High School. He was a proud member of the Class of 2026 at the Wayne County Career Center, where he studied Diesel Mechanics.

Dylan was a hard worker who loved being outdoors, hunting, and tinkering with motors. He had a natural curiosity and a passion of figuring out how things worked. Above all, Dylan had a passion for life and a way of bringing his own unique energy and personality to those around him.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving father, Michael Midkiff; his brother, Mikey Midkiff; and his sister, Alexandrea Midkiff, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Rick Kolek and Wayne Midkiff.

Dylan will be deeply missed by his Grandmother, Jill Kolek; Aunt, Kim Lindeman (Zach); Uncle, Kevin Midkiff; and Aunt, Kristi Kolek (Clay); along with his many cousins and loyal friends who were so fortunate to know and love him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dylan's friends who have shown up with condolences, prayers, love, and support during this incredibly difficult time. A special and heartfelt thank you goes to the Sklenicka family for welcoming both Dylan and Alex into their family, loving them, and treating them as their own. Your kindness and love will never be forgotten.

Although Dylan's life was far too short, the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the beautiful soul he carried will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him. His life was brief, but his impact was great. Dylan left this world loved beyond measure, and his memory will never be forgotten.

The visitation for Dylan will be Monday, August 24, 2026 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM located at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem. Followed by the Celebration of Life at 7:00 PM.
