Dorothy L (Sumpter) Ramsey
April 3, 1941 — June 5, 2015
Dorothy L Ramsey (Sumpter) went home to be with her Lord and savior on June 5, 2015 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. With the grace of a true southern lady she passed away at home surrounded by her loving family.
Dotty was born April 3, 1941 in Burnsville, West Virginia to Nye and Sylvia Sumpter. She was one of 10 children. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life Arthur “Ike” Ramsey and they were together 59 years. Surviving are her two children Rodney Ramsey and Regina Ramsey. Also 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She lived for her family and loved being a homemaker and was co-owner of Malibu Tan in Wooster.
Dotty walked with the Lord every day and often said, “Wide is the gate but narrow is the path” and hoped everyone will find salvation and find their purpose in life. The world lost a truly kind hearted person who cared for many children, not only her own. She never let anyone go hungry. She went above and beyond to make the world a better place. The world will suffer the loss of an angel, but we know she is in Heaven waiting for us.
Special Thanks to her loving son-in-law Jay Jones, Wesley Ramsey and Shianne Ramsey for the gentle loving care they gave in her time of need also Nicki Smith Troyer, Jenny Icenhower, Amy Bush, Brenda Kerns, Tammy Young, Teresa DiScipio and the entire Ramsey and Sumpter family for the prayers and shoulders to cry on. Also the unknown people that prayed for our family.
