Donald T Ruch 86 of West Salem died Sat morning May 12, 2012 at Brookdale Place in Wooster.
Friends will be received Wed. May 16, 2012 from 11:00 to 12:00 at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem. Burial will be in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.

Donald was born on June 14, 1925 in Akron the son of Raymond & Edna (Wilkes) Ruch.
He served in the US Navy during WW 2.
He retired from law enforcement which includes Bay Village Police Dept. from 1953 to 1965 and United States Treasury Dept. where he was a special agent in the Criminal Investigation Unit from 1966 to 1986.
He is survived by his wife Arlyn (Huston) Ruch who he married in 1970 and they moved to West Salem in 1976,
Four children- Sandra Schmidt of North Carolina, James ( Gretchen ) Checkelsky of Valley City, David (Jamie) Checkelsky of Ashland and Timothy Checkelsky of Wooster. Six grandchildren, Drew, Brett, Ben, Justin, Colin & Catherine.
His parents, a son Thomas Checkelsky and a brother Robert Ruch died previously.
