Don W. Hastings, 89, of West Salem died Friday August 9, 2013 at Hospice of North Central Ohio in Ashland,
Memorial services will be held Sunday August 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Congress Community Church with Pastor Christopher Cottrel officiating. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the services. Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem is assisting the family with the arrangements. He was born October 12, 1923 in Medina County the son of Earl & Florence (Kime) Hastings.
Graduated from Lodi High School.
He was a charter member of the Northwestern Ruritan. Member of Congress Community Church, West Salem Senior Citizens, Medina and Wayne County Farm Bureau and Harrisville Grange.
Surviving by children- David (Kim) Hastings of West Salem, Donna ( Gary) Pendleton of Marion, Susan (Lee) Bridenstine of Gaines, Michigan and Barbara (Rick) Mendenhall of Wooster,
12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren
His wife Ruth, whom he married April 29, 1944, parents and two brothers, Dale W and Wayne F Hastings and an infant sister died previously.
