Claude J.H. Sturgill Sr. 74 of Burbank died Sept. 11, 2011 at Akron General Hospital.
Funeral services will be Thursday Sept. 15, 2011 at 11:00 at the Truth Baptist Church in West Salem with Pastor Brad Ingram officiating.
Friends will be received Wed. evening at the Matteson Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Burial in Hazzard Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Truth Baptist Church, 12457 North Elyria Road, P.O. Box 96, West Salem, Ohio or Zion Christian Academy, 6901 Old Zion Road, Columbia, TN 38401.
He was born June 14, 1937 in Eolia, Kentucky the son of Fitzhugh and Vonda (Roberts) Sturgill.
He retired in 1996 from Ford Motor Company in Brook Park.
He was a member of the Truth Baptist Church and the UAW # 1250.
He is survived by two daughters Brenda Gray of Burbank and Sheila (Michael) Aldrich of Ethridge, Tenn.
Six grandchildren Brandon, Joshua and Jacob (Kim) Gray, Abbey Rose, Isabella and Olivia Aldrich.
Two great grandchildren Kaden and Madelynn.
Two brothers Ellis and Worley Sturgill of Kentucky and a sister Barbara Wortley of Colorado
His parents, wife Berdena in 2007, two children Claude J.H. Sturgill Jr, Sandra Lynn Sturgill, two sisters Grace Maggard, Irene Coots and a brother Robert Sturgill Sr. died previously.
