Christine Jo (Matteson) Taray

Christine Jo Taray, 60 of Creston died Thursday January 20, 2022 at Wooster Community Hospital.

She was born February 27, 1961 in Orrville, Ohio the daughter of Phillip K and Sally L (Weaver) Matteson.

Chris graduated from Norwayne High School in 1979 where she was in marching band. She received her nursing degree from Mansfield Nursing School. Chris was a registered nurse for 25 years working Dunlap Hospital in Orrville, Mercy Medical Center in Canton and Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg where she worked in the ER Department..

Chris enjoyed landscaping, gardening, reading, dancing, expensive perfumes, jewelry and drinking her Diet Pepsi along with her Lay's Potato Chips. She was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Her favorite music artist were Toby Keith and Nelly. Chris was always a women who enjoyed having a good time with her friends and family. She always had a smile on her face and she was ready for a good time. The light and joy she brought to her family and her friends will be greatly missed.

Chris is survived by her daughter: Tianna, aunts: Lois Matteson and Joan Fiscus, cousins: Michele (Dave Devore) Matteson, Mark Matteson, Josh (Shannon) Matteson, Victoria Devore and Molly Devore.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister; Allison and cousin: David Devore.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday January 25, 2022 at 7:00 pm at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem with Angela Gibson officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7  Tuesday evening before the service at the funeral home.
