Cheri R. Dowdy 42 of West Salem died Sat morning at Akron General Hospital.
Memorial services will be Friday August 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Matteson funeral Home in West Salem with Pastor Joe Rock officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Matteson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 314, West Salem, Ohio 44287 to help with the funeral expenses.
She was born Nov. 18, 1968 in Cleveland the daughter of Clarence and Charlotte (Adams) Dowdy Sr.
She graduated in 1987 from Black River High School. Cheri had been employed at Lakeside Home Care in Wooster where she was a home health aide.
She is survived by a daughter Morgan Ann Robinson, mother Charlotte Dowdy all of the home, two brothers Stephen D Dowdy of West Salem and Clarence Ray Dowdy Jr of North Carolina. Two sisters Natalie A. Catherman of Litchfield and Celena D Torres of West Salem.
Nieces Kayla M and Kara R Torres, Ashley N. and Alisha R Dowdy. A nephew Stephen D Dowdy Jr.
Her father died previously.
