Charlotte A. (Adams) Dowdy

Charlotte A. Dowdy, 75 of Carlisle formerly of West Salem, Ohio passed away Thursday September 8, 2022 at her home.

She was born February 15, 1947 in Holden, West Virginia the daughter of Chester and Lucy (Clark) Adams.

Charlotte graduated from Logan High School in West Virginia.

She married Clarence Ray (Sonny) Dowdy Sr. in June of 1967. He preceded her in death January 25, 1999.

Charlotte retired from Eberhard Manufacturing in Strongsville. She had also worked at Premium Building Products in West Salem previously.

Charlotte enjoyed cooking, gardening, cleaning and visiting with the Amish. She was a good wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to everyone she met.

Charlotte is survived by children; Clarence Ray Dowdy Jr of North Carolina, Steve Dowdy of West Salem, Natalie (Anthony) Catherman of Litchfield and Celena (Jackie) Torres of Carlisle and Jose Torres of Lorain grandchildren; Ashley Dowdy, Alisha Dowdy, Kayla Torres, Kara Torres, Morgan Robinson and Stephanie Catherman, great grandchildren; Trenton Rodgers, Chloe Moody and Raelee Dowdy, sisters; Rosemary Stiwinter, Joyce Bradshaw and Aurelia (Joe) Rock.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Clarence Ray (Sonny) Dowdy, daughter; Cheri Dowdy, grandson; Steve Dowdy Jr., brother; Chester Adams and her parents.

Funeral Service will be Thursday September 15, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem with Pastor Joe Rock officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be Friday September 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill, West Virginia.
