Charles Bruce Gruver

Charles Bruce Gruver 69 of West Salem, Ohio died on Wednesday July 17, 2024 at his home. He was born in Lodi, Ohio on May 23, 1955 to Melvin and Betty (Simmons) Gruver. He graduated from Black River High School in 1973. He married Katherine Ann (Zawacki) Gruver on August 20, 1976. Bruce worked for American Augers in West Salem for 20 years and he was always engaged in family farming during his life. Bruce enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing and loved visiting with people. Bruce leaves behind his daughter, Elizabeth (Tim) Dunbar of VA and son, Ben (Bessie) Gruver of Kansas; four grandchildren: Jenna, Garrett, Dakota and Trinity; and a sister, Melissa (Jeff) Clemens of Ohio. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Kate in 2012 and his parents. There will be a memorial service for Bruce on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem with Pastor Paul Bartholomew officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial in Hazzard Cemetery.
