Bernard L Yoss, 89 of West Salem died Tuesday October 28, 2014 at Hospice of Medina County.
Funeral Services will be Monday November 3, 2014 @ 11:00 a.m. at the Matteson Funeral Home In West Salem with Pastor Tom Matus officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday evening 7-9. Burial in Maple Hill Cemetery, Homerville where military rites will be conducted by James Stevenson American Legion Post 499 of West Salem. He was born June 15, 1925 in Sardis, Ohio the son of Clarence & Louise (Schaub) Yoss.
He served in the US Navy during WW II.
He married Emma Young on March 1, 1947 who died March 6, 2001.
He had been engaged in farming all his life and was also employed by Avon Plumbing. Later, he started the Bernard Yoss Plumbling and Heating service.
Bernard was a beekeeper.
He is survived by children, Larry (Carolyn) Yoss of Brandon, Florida, Marilyn (Gary) Shearer of West Salem, Wade Yoss of West Salem, Carol Hamilton of Plymouth, Michigan, Janet (Ronald) McKenzie of Lodi, and Ray (Kristi) Yoss of Spencer, 18 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, sisters, Nina Benek of Wooster, Pearl Swain of Wadsworth and Donna (Steve) Campbell of Shelby.
His parents , wife Emma and brother Clarence Yoss Jr. died previously
