Allen C Blodgett

Allen C Blodgett, 79 of Polk, Ohio died on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Health and Wellness Center in Bath. He was born in Lodi, Ohio on March 6, 1945 to parents Russell and Mabel (Markley) Blodgett. He graduated from Black River High School in 1964. Allen married Joan (Moore) Blodgett on August 21, 1982 who survives. He was employed at the United States Postal Service, where he was a rural carrier in the Polk area for 35 years. Allen was engaged in family farming all his life while working for the Postal Service. He enjoyed riding his high wheeler bike in parades. Joan and Allen enjoyed going to fly wheeler and small engine shows together. They spent their winters in Florida together. He was an avid hunter. Allen also enjoyed helping his community by being a Jackson Trustee for 16 years.

Allen is survived by his wife Joan (Moore) Blodgett; children, Matt (Stephen Bloom) Blodgett, Lee (Valerie) Blodgett, Charlotte Jones, Larry (Christine) Adcock and Jenny Adcock (Carrie Taylor); many grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, David (Pamela) Blodgett and Bertha (James) Rush; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Adcock; brother, Roger Blodgett; sisters, Lynn Blodgett and Lucy Blodgett.

The services for Allen will be Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem, Ohio. Pastor Jim Franks will be officiating the service. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Blodgett Family Cemetery.
