Alice I (Smith) Zimmerman ,74, of West Salem died Saturday March 30, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
Graveside services will be Thursday April 4, 2013 @ 1:00 at Congress Cemetery with Pastor Christopher Cottrel officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to Congress Community Church, 10691 Franchester Road, West Salem, Ohio 44287 or Town & Country Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 175, West Salem, Ohio 44287. Alice was born January 19, 1939 in Lodi, Ohio the daughter of Stanley L and Varie M. (Kline) Smith.
She graduated from Northwestern High School in 1957.
Alice was secretary of the Northwestern High School and to the Superintendent of the Northwestern Local Schools for 31 years. She served on the Northwestern School Board for 12 years. She was inducted into the Northwestern Local Schools Hall of Honor in 2012.
She was a member of the Congress Community Church where she served for a number of years as a substitute church organist and also served as former church treasurer.
She was a member of the Northwestern Ruritan Club, and Northwestern 10 Farm Bureau Council.
Her hobbies include crocheting, knitting, music and flowers.
Alice is survived by her sister- Norma (Robert) Noble of Westerville, niece Elizabeth Bridge, nephews Robert A (Melissa) Noble and David S. Noble and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard C Zimmerman whom she had married July 19, 1964, sister Linda E. Smith.
