Alice E Holmes, 94, of West Salem died Monday Feb. 2, 2015 at Burbank Parke Care Center.
Funeral Services will be Friday February 6, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the Grace Brethren Church , 8992 Firestone Road, Homerville with Pastors Reid A Firestone and Bob Combs officiating. Friends will be received Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem. Burial in Fair Haven Cemetery. She was born October 18, 1920 in Ashland, Ohio the daughter of Clyde & Vera (Baker) Scobey.
She graduated from Lorain High School in 1939 and National Bible Institute in New York in 1943.
She was a homemaker all her life.
She taught Bible in Southern Ashland County and taught piano lessons. She was a member of Grace Brethren Church of Homerville where she played the organ for many years, choir director, taught Sunday School, and was an active member of WMC.
She is survived by her husband, Robert F Holmes whom she married August 24, 1946 and a son, Donald Holmes of Cutler, Ohio.
Her parents, two infant daughters, a brother and sister-in-law, nieces and nephews died previously.
