Alan D Barnes 75 of West Salem died Thursday June 14, 2012 at his home.

He was born March 24, 1937 in Homerville the son of Clinton and Laura (Barton) Barnes.
He served in the US Army. Alan retired on March 1, 1993 from general Motors in Columbus.
He was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Ashland where he served as an usher and Sunday School Class Deacon and the Gideon International. He was a past member of the Town & Country Fire Department where he served for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife Thelma (Hayes) Barnes whom he married July 6, 1963. Two children Laura (Reggie) Kline of West Salem and Matthew Alan Barnes of West Salem and four grandchildren.
His parents, two brothers and a sister died previously.
