Robert E. Brown

Robert (Bob) E. Brown Sr. 76, of West Salem died December 15, 2019 at Life Care Hospice in Wooster. Robert was born July 28, 1943 in Wellington, Ohio to parents Horace & Helena (Miller) Brown. He served the United States in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict. He married his wife of 53 years Patricia (McCarter) Brown February 26, 1966. He was in law enforcement for 26 years.

Robert was a member of the First Baptist Church, American Legion in Lodi Post 523, Amvets 149 and Ashland VFW 1067.

He is survived by his wife Patricia; sons Robert Lee (Susan Marie) Brown Jr. of Congress and William Brown of West Salem; grandchildren Robbie Lee (Anna) Brown III and Brittany Nicole; great grandchildren Emma & Olivia; sister Geraldine Kidd of Lodi and brother William Brown of Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and a sister.

Visitation will be Sunday December 22, 2019 at the Matteson Funeral Home, West Salem from 2PM – 7PM. Funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church,  in West Salem on Monday December 23, 2019 at 11AM with Pastor Jerry Arman officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lodi where military rites will be conducted by James Stevenson American Legion Post 499 of West Salem. Memorials can be sent to the First Baptist Church 129 S Main St, West Salem, OH 44287.
