Jay S Smith

Jay S Smith, 86 of West Salem died Wednesday June 13, 2018 at University Hospital in Cleveland.

Memorial Mass will be Saturday June 30, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Wellington with Father David Trask officiating. Memorial visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville. He was born February 20. 1932 in Pottsville, Pa the son of Francis and Clara (Sinton) Smith and married Dorothy (Meshanko) Smith in 1960. She survives.

He served in the US air Force.

 Jay retired from Oberlin Air Traffic Controller in Oberlin after 29 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Dorothy are sons, Jason (Cindy) Smith, Justin (Wendy) Smith and Jonathan (Lynna) Smith, five grandsons, a sister, Evelyn Cooper and a brother, Irvin Smith.

His parents and a brother, Ralph Smith died previously.
