James D Durham

James D Durham, 81 of Wooster died Saturday August 12, 2017 at Aultman Hospital in Canton.

Funeral Services will be Thursday August  17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at  Mohican Church of the Brethren, 7759 North Elyria Road West Salem, OH 44287 with Pastor Paul Bartholomew officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial in Mohican Church of the Brethren Cemetery. He was born September 24, 1935 in Grassy Cove, Tennessee the son of Noel Eugene & Emma Katherine (Bristow) Durham.

He graduated from Strongsville High School in 1954,and served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves.

Jim retired in 1993 from Ohio Bell Telephone Company after 35 years of service . He  was a member of the Mohican Church of the Brethren and he sang songs  for various churches.

He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians Fan.  He enjoyed watching the Ohio State Marching Band and gardening.

He is survived by his wife Carol(Zents)Durham whom he married Dec 4, 1954, daughters, Debra Courtright of New Philadelphia, Becky(Russell)Nowell of Rowsburg, Sandy(Donald)Eckenrode of Doylestown, Mary(Jeff)Workman of Wooster and Kathy Durham of Wooster, sons, Dave(Mitzi)Durham of Las Vegas, Nevada, Dan Durham of Portland, Oregon, 16 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, sisters, Ina Wilcox of West Salem, Char(Larry)Abend of Brunswick and a brother, Dave(Dixie)Durham of Honolulu, Hawaii.

His parents and a daughter Carol Ruth Durham died previously.
