Gwendolyn Taylor Obituary

Gwendolyn (Midge) Taylor, 80, of Ashland died April 14, 2019 at Crystal Care Center in Ashland. Gwen was born August 9, 1938 in Jodie, West Virginia, an old coal mining town, the daughter of James and Clara (Lowe) Simms. She married her husband Paul Taylor March 4, 1957, who died January 13, 2018. She was a homemaker. She was a member to the First Baptist Church in West Salem. Gwen also enjoyed puzzles and reading.

Gwen leaves behind daughter, Pamela Connell of Ashland; 3 grandchildren, Heather, Paul and Jasmine Connell; sister, Delores Taylor of North Carolina; step sister, Rebecca Cozart of West Virginia.

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 brothers, Don Eugene Simms and Robert Lee Simms; step sister Veronica Simms and step brother Berkley Simms.

Visitation will be Thursday evening April 18, 2019 from 6-8 and an hour prior to the service at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem, Ohio. The Funeral Service for Gwen will be on Friday April, 19, 2019 at 11:30 AM with Pastor Roger Scarbro officiating. Gwen will be buried at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
