David L Flinn, 70 of Wooster died Saturday December 8, 2018 at University Hospital in Cleveland due to injuries from an automoblie accident.
Funeral Service will be noon on Thursday December 13, 2018 at Mohican Church of the Brethren with Pastor Paul Bartholomew and Chaplin Philip Klinefelter officiating. Friends will be received two hours prior to the services at the church. Burial in Congress Cemetery with military rites conducted by James Stevenson American Legion Post 499 of West Salem. David was born April 26, 1948 in Lodi, Ohio the son of Elwyn and Myrtis (Bowman) Flinn.
He graduated in 1967 from Northwestern High School. He served proudly in the US Army during the Vietnam Era where he was a sniper and a heavy equipment operator. He used the skills that he learned in the army for the rest of his life. David retired from D & L Drain Service of Wooster. After retiring Dave ran parts for his brother, James Flinn who is the owner of Pine Run Farm Repair.
Dave enjoyed talking to people and telling stories, ground hog hunting and shooting. He loved tinkering with pulling tractors with his family and the outdoors especially the West.
He was a member of the NRA, Marshville Tractor Pulling and the Military Vehicle Preservation Association where he and Linda accompanied them on a convoy.
David is survived by his wife, Linda J( Boreman), who he married on September 5, 1970, sons, Corey (Stacy) Flinn and Faron (Amanda) Flinn, six grandchildren, sisters, Mary Ellen (Bill) Hieronymus, Margaret (Steve) Martin and Elizabeth (Philip) Klinefelter and a brother, James (Mary) Flinn.
His parents and a brother, John died previously.
