Christine Lamson Obituary

Christine Ann Lamson of West Salem went home to be with the Lord January 24th at Crystal Care Center in Ashland.  She fought a valiant fight with COPD until the very end.

Chrissy was born December 22nd, 1960 in Marshall, Michigan, to David Wolf and Carole (Landis) Lawson.  She attended Northwestern High School. Before her health declined, she worked at Matso’s in Wooster and Mack’s in Lodi.

Chris enjoyed crocheting beautiful afghans and making special gifts for her family and friends. Chris took beautiful photos of sunsets and flowers, often turning them into one-of-a-kind art. She had an infectious laugh and a hug for everyone she met. Her faith in Jesus was inspiring and unwavering. She had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved cat Gracie Mae and her canine companion, Buddy.

Left on this earth to mourn is her pride and joy, daughter Nicolle Lamson, of the home. Also surviving is her mother, Carole (Landis) Lawson, of Rittman; brother David Wolf of Springhill, Tennessee; sister Erin (Lawson) Burdette of Rittman; half siblings Todd (Christine) Lawson of Wadsworth; Carrie Kemper of Medina; Step father Paul Ickes of Wooster; special nieces Megan Mullen of Wooster; Olivia Burdette of Rittman; great-niece Keanna Butler of Wooster, and many cousins, aunts and friends.

Waiting to welcome her home was her father, her best friend and sister Gwen Mullen; step-father Paul Lawson; grandparents, uncles, and dear friends Dan and Scott.

Calling hours will be held Monday, January 28th from 5-7 pm at Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem. Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 29th at 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Bartholomew officiating.  The family asks that visitors incorporate Chris’s favorite color, turquoise, into their outfit for calling hours and the funeral. She would want us to be bright and happy, remembering the good times.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation for Hospice of Northeast Ohio. Also, greatest thanks to everyone at Crystal Care for their amazing care and support, and to Buelah Bowman for her willingness to help Chris, and for caring for her animals when Chris was no longer able. Online condolences may be shared at mattesonfh.com.
