Harold Kline Obituary

Harold Marion Kline, Jr, born December 26, 1949, went on to be with the Lord and the love of his life, Sharon on Monday, January 8 at his residence.  Harold grew up in West Salem with his 7 siblings. He was a hard worker his entire life and did what he could to improve the lives of the ones he held dear to his heart. Harold graduated from Northwestern High School in 1968 and was part of several championship baseball, football and basketball teams. He loved playing and watching sports. He was always so proud of his sports career and loved to tell stories about his time at Northwestern. Going to his grandchildren’s sporting events was a priority, and even in his failing health he rarely missed a game.

Harold worked as a supervisor for Akron Brass and Rubbermaid prior to working as a custodian for Northwestern schools for many years. He enjoyed golfing any chance he got, and worked at Mohican Golf Course off and on since he was 15. He loved a good crossword puzzle and cherished his beloved dogs, Bandit and Buddy.

In 2010, Harold lost the love of his life, Sharon, and a big piece of his heart left with her. He is finally where he has yearned to be for so long, with Sharon and Jesus.  If you knew Harold, you know he loved to tease people and cared deeply for his family and friends. His heart was once again broken when his dear friend, Don Hershey passed. We will always appreciate the kindness and companionship that Don brought to our dad, whether it was taking him out to breakfast at Cruisers or stopping over to cut his hair and check in. Dad was also very fond of his neighbors, Gary and Mary Beth Bowman, who always went out of their way to check in on him, bring over dinner, or just talk and ease his loneliness.  He cherished your friendship.  He was always so grateful to his special granddaughter, Caitlin, who lived with him for several years and cared for him in his declining health.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ethel, brothers David and Norman, and a sister Maryann Olsen.  He is survived by a son Tony (Maryann) Kline and their children, Karsten, Kayson, and Kynslee, daughter Carolyn (Robert) Graham and their daughters Caitlin, Cara, and Cassidy, and son Steve (Zatinia) Kline and step grandchildren Aveon and Zandria, as well as sisters Connie Gregg, Liz (Matt) Ungashick, Lorie Kline, and Karla (Steve) Scott.
