Russell L Pummell

Russell L Pummell, 96 of Ashland died Tuesday September 20, 2016 at the Good Shepherd Nursing home in Ashland.

There will be no services the body is being cremated.  Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem is handling the arrangements.  Online condolences may be shared at the funeral home website at mattesonfh.com.

He was born August 18, 1920 in Lima, Ohio the son of Russell & Mary (Griffin) Pummell.

He had been employed at Morgan Drilling in Wooster for 38 years, after retiring he was employed at West Salem Elementary School for 6 years.

He enjoyed gardening and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 77 years Lee(Chmura) Pummell  they were  married on May 4, 1939, children, Linda (Tom) Osborn of Polk and Larry(Sheila)Pummell of Florida, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, sister, June Spice of West Salem and a brother, Garner(June)Pummell of Tennessee.

His parents, brother, Walter Pummell and sister, Irene Matusavage died previously
